Journey through the Brain
The brain is the most complex and the most intriguing entity in the Universe.
Enormous effort has been concentrated over the years on understanding its function - and will continue to be so during the coming decades.
We are far from a full understanding of the brain (assuming our brains are capable of reaching such an understanding!) but The Bloomfield Science Jerusalem (BSMJ) felt that the time has come to 'expose the brain' to the general public.
Brain research is very advanced in Israel, and The Hebrew University's Interdisciplinary Center for Neural Computation (ICNC) is a major focus of this research. Accordingly, BSMJ and ICNC will cooperate in the creation of a major five-year project to present the 'state of the art' in brain research, especially that carried out in Israel, to a wide public in a challenging way.
The BSMJ operates under the joint auspices of The
Hebrew University and of The
Jerusalem Foundation. The project was made possible by donations through The Jerusalem Foundation from
the government of Nordrhein Westfalia (Germany) and the
Teva company.
